![]() Yes, each area typically has only about four to five different enemy types, but Rin is broken up into smaller regions and each of those have their own catalogue of enemies. Surprising amount of enemy varieties and locationsĪ surprising amount of enemy varieties and locations in Rise of the Third Power as well. Honestly, I always appreciate when a RPG doesn’t force the player to grind for hours just to get past a certain section. Even though there were a few areas where I needed to grind for XP, I never found myself having to grind for very long. I also found Rise of the Third Power to be appropriately challenging, without feeling unfair. The ways that you can combine moves between characters to unleash special attacks are really creative. That being said, I still really enjoyed the combat in Rise of the Third Power. Although, there are times that it can feel tedious when you have to constantly swap out teammates in order to get the best attack or defense strategies in place. This is isn’t usually a huge problem since the game does allow you you to swap out your party members throughout the fight. Unlike Ara Fell, which allowed up to four characters on the battle screen at once, Rise of the Third Power only allows three. At least the moves that are available are flashy and satisfying. However, this is likely due to budgetary constraints from being such a small studio. My only other small gripe with the combat system is that the move/abilities list for each character feels somewhat limited. ![]() Rise of the Third Power is your typical turn-based JRPG styled game, so there’s a lot of strategy to be found in which combinations of characters you’ll want to start each fight with. But there are those that believe it can yet be stopped… Instead of purchasing replacements, the player purchases upgrades. It is feared by many that a reprise of the Great War, that at one time could have been prevented, is now all but inevitable. The Arkadyan Empire shows no signs of curbing its aggression. Thus far, his gambit has proven successful. Noraskov had theorized that the nations of the world were still too worn by the Great War to enforce the terms of the Treaty. And they supported him as he raised an army. They supported him as he reclaimed the lands that had been stripped of them. They supported Noraskov when he overthrew the king. He saw his king as a coward for surrendering, and a traitor for submitting to the Treaty of Evenheart. In time, Dimitri Noraskov, a hero to the defeated Kingdom of Arkadya, rose from the ashes. Of the many players that had acted on the world stage, only two remained: the kingdom of Cirinthia and the ancient Republic of Tariq. The conflict rocked the world, leaving half a generation of men and women lying dead on the battlefield. 1587, 2A – 15 years have passed since the guns of the Great War at last fell silent. Combine each character’s unique powers and disadvantages, analyze the abilities of your foes, set your formation and charge into battle.
